The last time I visited my Gramma in her village, I parked myself on her cool stone veranda and watched the sun slowly sink behind those bright yellow mustard fields, the colours really stood out. The air was thick with the smell of earth & wood smoke from the fires burning in the nearby homes. Down the mud road some kids were kicking a ball back & forth, their infectious laughter echoing across the open fields.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She poured me a cup of tea and just kind of whispered,
” This house has been standing here seventy years, you know. Every single wall has its own stories to tell. “<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That night I lay there under the lazy spin of the ceiling fan and started thinking about my own place back in Gurgaon. The neem tree in the back yard was planted on the day my mum was born, so it’s been watching us grow up for over 40 years. My apartment in DLF Garden City Sector 93 Gurgaon<\/a><\/strong> is part of a carefully planned, structured community. Wide roads. Landscaped parks. Security. Power backup. Lift access.
